What is Sustainable Hanger ?
"Sustainable Development" is currently a widely accepted vision for the future—one that seeks to meet socio -economic needs while doing as little harm as possible to the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
In the clothes hanger industry, It uses a wide variety of raw materials, the most common one is Plastic Material include: Polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), Acrylic and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) . According to publicly available data, the world consumes approximately 8 billion hangers each year. Even so-called "eco-friendly" plastics take 30 to 40 years to degrade in nature, and after degradation, they leach into groundwater, posing a significant threat to the environment.
As professional clothes hanger company, HHanger has been consistently striving to balance commercial needs with the promotion of sustainable, eco-friendly hangers—through production, sales, and advocacy. We have found that plastic hangers can be effectively replaced by cardboard hangers, straw-based biodegradable hangers, and bamboo hangers, all of which significantly improve environmental outcomes. However, the most effective approach of all is to increase the number of times plastic hangers are reused, We call it RTS service
As we know, H&M has been the most committed and proactive brand in implementing global plastic hanger reuse—an effort we find truly inspiring. For every ton of new hangers produced, approximately 5 to 6 tons of carbon dioxide are emitted. Each time a hanger is reused, it avoids the generation of new CO₂ emissions. As one of H&M's circular reuse partner in China, we have deeply experienced this ongoing process of balancing continuous improvement with economic feasibility.
What is the trend ?
Based on our company sales market feedback, 5-6 years ago, It is major European chain apparel brands Who began adopting recycled plastic hangers and straw-based plastic hangers to comply with relevant EU environmental regulations. Since the beginning of this year, even more brands have started requesting replacements for traditional PP, PS, and ABS hangers with recycled straw-based plastic alternatives, aiming to enhance their brand value.
This year, we have begun to have connection with some major U.S. brand companies who are starting to discuss eco-friendly hanger solutions and requesting samples. This is a very positive signal.
